We are delighted to be working with this expanding local business, which is looking to recruit a Shipping & Logistics Coordinator to the team. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this position involves close collaboration with the Operations Team, Traders, and other support functions.

THE ROLE:
* Plan the loading and shipment of traded product from source to destination in line with terms of the sale. Responsibilities will be shared amongst the team and may change due to volume and seasonality.
* Coordinate with internal teams and external parties to ensure efficient and timely shipments in line with contractual terms.
* Work with the Container Risk Working Group to manage and minimise risks involved with container trade.
* Handle container claims with shipping lines and cargo insurers as required.
* Maximise margins on shipments and ensure high supplier/customer satisfaction.
* Produce accurate and timely forecasting information for stakeholders.
* Ensure timely container loadings as per sale agreements.
* Participate in project work with the Container Operations Manager.
* Monitor shipment issues until container collection and return by customer.
* Maintain communication with trading partners and provide planning information.
* Coordinate logistics with support functions and traders.
* Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve performance and service levels.
* Work with inspection agencies to meet market requirements.
* Collaborate with the Container Operations team to meet KPIs.
* Integrate SAP into container operations and develop reporting and controls.
* This role is part of the wider Container Logistics team and may require performing additional duties to ensure smooth operations.
