Our client, a well‑established organisation with over 50 years of experience in logistics and distribution across a range of industries, is seeking a reliable and detail‑oriented Accounts Assistant to join their team. In this role, you will support the finance function with day‑to‑day accounting activities, ensuring accurate and efficient financial operations.
Location: Wirral
Salary: £26,000-£28,000 per annum, depending on experience
Type: Full‑time, on‑site
Key Responsibilities
Recording daily financial transactions and maintaining the general ledger
Reconciling bank statements and ensuring accuracy in financial records
Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable
Issuing invoices and processing supplier payments
Organising financial documentation for audit and compliance purposes
Assisting with VAT returns
Managing credit control tasks
Providing support with general bookkeeping and wider finance duties as required
Requirements
Previous experience in bookkeeping
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Confident communication skills across phone and email
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and finance software
Proactive, organised approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Logical thinking and effective problem‑solving skills
