We are looking for an organised and proactive Technician / Workshop Controller to oversee the daily operations of our busy workshop. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating workflow, managing technicians, ensuring high-quality service delivery, and maintaining efficiency across all workshop activities. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong leadership skills, technical understanding, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities
* Allocate work efficiently to technicians and monitor progress throughout the day
* Ensure workshop jobs are completed on time and to a high standard
* Manage workshop productivity and maximise utilisation
* Liaise with service advisors, parts departments, and customers where required
* Monitor repair quality and ensure compliance with health and safety standards
* Support technicians with technical guidance and problem-solving
* Ensure accurate completion of job cards and workshop documentation
* Maintain strong communication across departments to ensure smooth operations
Requirements
* MOT tester qualification
* Strong organisational and leadership skills
* Excellent communication and customer service abilities
* Good technical knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair
* Ability to prioritise workloads and work under pressure
* Experience using workshop management systems is desirable
* Full UK driving licence preferred
