Overview
This role reports to the Change, Adoption and Learning Head of Practice within Consulting and is responsible for gathering, analysing, documenting, and validating requirements for business processes, systems, and applications. The role plays a key part in understanding business challenges, identifying opportunities for improvement, and proposing effective solutions to enhance efficiency, productivity, and overall business performance.
Key Responsibilities
* Process Improvement: Collaborate with stakeholders to elicit, document, and validate how a business or business area works, conduct interviews and workshops, use techniques such as surveys, data analysis, and process modelling to identify opportunities for improvement, and lead the design, prioritisation and implementation of process and business changes.
* Documentation: Create detailed business requirements, user stories, use cases and functional specifications; maintain clear and concise documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
* Data Analysis: Analyse and interpret data to extract insights, identify trends, support data‑driven decision making, and define success measures and metrics.
* Solution Design: Apply user research and design principles to ensure intuitive interfaces; collaborate with product owners, project managers, and SMEs to design solutions that meet business needs, and manage requirements and user stories within Azure DevOps.
* Testing & Quality Assurance: Define test cases and scenarios, support the design and execution of business process tests and usability evaluations, assess the efficiency and impact of business processes, and support UAT to ensure solutions meet stakeholder expectations.
* Agile Working: Apply an agile mindset to all aspects of work, using iterative methods and a flexible approach to enable rapid delivery.
* Continuous Improvement: Stay current with industry trends, best practices and emerging technologies; proactively identify areas for process improvement and propose innovative solutions.
* Business Architecture & Operating Models: Analyse organisational landscapes, translate business drivers into desired operating models, and support future‑state architecture aligned with strategy.
Qualifications
* 5+ years of relevant experience in a Business Analyst role.
* Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
* Proficiency in business analysis tools and documentation software.
* Experience on Government projects following Service Standards.
* Experience with Agile/Scrum and Waterfall methodologies.
* Business Process redesign experience.
* Leadership capability as a role model, partner and mentor to project teams and clients.
* Results‑focused with strong business acumen and structured thinking.
* Consulting skills: facilitation, conflict management, business case development.
* Ability to work in a high‑pressure, rapidly changing environment dealing with ambiguity.
