Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Pastry Chef to join our culinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing a variety of high-quality pastries, desserts, and baked goods, ensuring consistency and excellence in presentation. Responsibilities
* Prepare and bake a wide range of pastries, desserts, and baked goods according to established recipes and standards
* Assist in the development of new pastry recipes and menu items in collaboration with the culinary team
* Ensure all baked products meet food safety and hygiene regulations at all times
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the pastry section, including equipment and work surfaces
* Monitor stock levels of ingredients and place orders as necessary to ensure smooth operations
* Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate food preparation and presentation for service periods
* Adhere to portion control standards to minimise waste while maintaining quality
* Support the training of junior kitchen staff in pastry techniques and safety procedures
Requirements
* Proven experience in food production, food preparation, cooking, or bakery environments
* Strong culinary experience with expertise in baking and pastry arts
* Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices within a professional kitchen setting
* Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is highly desirable
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
* A passion for creating visually appealing desserts and baked goods
* Relevant qualifications or certifications in culinary arts or patisserie are advantageous
