Head of Radiology
Closing date: 10 May 2026.
An experienced and forward‑thinking Head of Radiology is needed to manage operational and strategic aspects of radiology services across the Trust. This full‑time role will support high‑quality patient care and further develop imaging services.
Key Responsibilities
* Operations and strategic leadership of radiology services
* Personal and professional leadership across all radiology disciplines
* Strategic development of radiology services in line with Trust priorities
* People management, workforce planning, staff development, performance and wellbeing
* Budget management in accordance with Trust Standing Financial Instructions
* Establishment control and efficient use of resources
Qualifications
* DCR(R) or BSc (Hons) Radiography
* State registration through the HCPC
* Master’s Degree or postgraduate diploma, evidence of study at Master level or relevant experience
* Teaching qualification
Training
* Leadership training
* Evidence of continuous professional development
Knowledge
* Up to date knowledge of professional and national issues affecting AHPs
* Good understanding of current NHS initiatives
* Up to date knowledge of radiation protection legislation
* National standards and targets for radiology service delivery
Experience
* Significant clinical experience in radiography
* Significant experience in a management role
* Experience in selection and procurement of capital equipment
* Resource management, including financial and staffing
* Change management in a complex organisation
* Proven track record as a leader, change agent and role model
* Clear pattern of career progression
* Publications and conference presentations
* Cross‑organisational working
Contractual Requirements
* Ability to travel between sites
* Ability to work flexibly to the requirements of the post
Disclosure and Barring Service Check
Subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975, a Disclosure and Barring Service check will be required.
