HSQE Advisor (Health, Safety, Quality & Environment) – Full time, Permanent
Salary: £42,000 – £53,000 + Company Vehicle / Car Allowance
Location: Home-based (South of England)
Why this HSQE Advisor role is worth your attention:
If you’re an experienced HSQE Advisor who wants autonomy, influence, and variety, this role gives you exactly that. You’ll work from home, manage your own diary, and play a central role in shaping HSQE standards across a well-established HVAC and refrigeration business operating throughout the South.
This is a role for someone who enjoys being trusted to get on with the job, influencing senior stakeholders, and making a visible impact, not ticking boxes in the background.
What you’ll do as HSQE Advisor:
As HSQE Advisor, you’ll be a key part of the central support function, working closely with directors, managers, project teams and site personnel to ensure health, safety, quality and environmental standards are consistently met and improved.
You’ll support the HSQE Manager in maintaining and developing management systems, while also acting as the go-to HSQE contact across customer sites in the South. Expect a mix of home working, site visits, and occasional overnight stays depending on project requirements.
On a day-to-day basis, you’ll:
* Maintain and improve HSQE management systems and procedures
* Provide practical HSQE advice to managers, employees and subcontractors
* Support projects to ensure full CDM compliance, including Client, Principal Contractor and Principal Designer duties
* Act as a client-facing HSQE point of contact
* Investigate incidents, accidents and near misses, implementing corrective actions
* Develop and manage audit programmes aligned to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001
* Carry out contractor audits, site inspections and compliance monitoring
* Analyse performance trends and report improvement actions to senior leadership
* This role exists to raise standards, reduce risk, and ensure consistency, not just to maintain the status quo.
What’s in it for you:
* Salary between £42,000 – £53,000
* Company vehicle or car allowance
* 25 days holiday
* Defined contribution pension
* Life assurance & private medical insurance
* Company sick pay scheme
* Ongoing professional training & development support
* Home-based role with regional travel across the South
You’ll be joining a business that values HSQE as a core function, not a bolt-on, and gives you the authority to influence how things are done.
What You Need as HSQE Advisor:
* You’re an experienced HSQE Advisor who is confident working independently and comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders. You’re organised, practical, and able to balance multiple sites and priorities.
* Around 5+ years’ experience in an HSQE role (industry background open)
* NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent)
* Experience working to ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001
* Working knowledge of CDM Regulations
* Strong communication and report-writing skills
* A full UK driving licence
