Overview
The successful candidate will collaborate with our current purchasing team members and will be responsible for buying a variety of high-tech production and non-production commodities, negotiating prices with suppliers, managing and controlling stock levels, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders on issues related to compliance, sustainability, and quality.
Responsibilities
* Effective management and control of supply chains to ensure that production requirements and time scales are met.
* Supplier price negotiation and management to ensure divisional cost targets are achieved.
* Control of stock and planning parameters within an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) environment, ensuring stock levels are managed consistently with risk analysis.
* Liaison both internally and externally to support resolution of quality-related issues and problems.
* Implementation of efficient supply chain communication, administration, and logistics solutions to ensure total acquisition costs are minimised.
* As part of the ongoing growth of Renishaw s Spectroscopy Products Division, we are seeking a Buyer to join our supply management team. We are looking for someone with proven skills in supply chain management. Experience of working in a procurement/supply chain environment.
* Proficient IT skills - Microsoft Office, Word and Excel.
* Ability to communicate effectively at all levels both internally and externally
* Full driving licence.
Desirable requirements
* Experience of purchasing materials within a manufacturing environment.
* Knowledge of electronic, optical and/or mechanical engineering components.
* An awareness of MRP (Manufacturing Resource Planning) / ERP and Stock Control processes
