English Lecturer
* Job Type: Part-time (25 hours per week)
* Location: South East London
* Salary: £25-30 per hour
We are seeking an English Lecturer to join our educational team and contribute to the successful learning experiences of our students. This role involves delivering high-quality teaching that meets or exceeds our College standards, resulting in high levels of student retention and achievement. The ideal candidate will be involved in course management to maximise student attendance and achievement.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Deliver effective teaching across a range of College courses and programmes within the department, including GCSE and Functional Skills, as well as related short vocational courses.
* Develop and update course materials, schemes of work, and lesson plans, making these accessible through the College's shared information system.
* Contribute to the personal development of students and support tutorial and personal development work with a range of students.
* Play a significant role in curriculum development and course coordination.
* Participate in various organisational activities such as student recruitment, interviewing, and induction.
* Engage in continuous professional development and contribute to the team’s collective responsibilities, which include maintaining course and student records, monitoring student progress, and assessing and evaluating student performance.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Proven experience in teaching and managing educational programmes, preferably in English or related subjects.
* Ability to develop and implement effective teaching strategies and course materials.
* Strong organisational and communication skills.
* Commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
* Familiarity with educational technologies and shared information systems.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a team and contribute to various administrative and marketing activities.
