Offer description

* Are you looking to kick‑start your career in digital communications within a forward‑thinking local authority?

* Interested in developing your skills in video production, social media, graphic design and digital storytelling?

* Excited by the idea of working in a creative team during a period of rapid transformation and change?

* Someone who enjoys creating engaging content, learning new tools, and contributing ideas to help improve online communication?

As our Digital Content and Social Media Apprentice, you will play an important role in supporting the Communications and Engagement Team to deliver high‑quality digital content across our websites, intranet, and social media channels.

Working closely with experienced communications professionals, you will learn how to plan, create and schedule engaging digital content – including short-form videos, graphics, newsletters, and social media posts. You’ll also gain hands-on experience monitoring online engagement, supporting campaigns, updating the website and intranet, and helping ensure our content is accessible, inclusive and aligned with organisational values.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the start of their communications career who is enthusiastic, creative and keen to develop practical skills in a fast-paced, supportive environment. You’ll be encouraged to bring new ideas, try new approaches, and build confidence using a range of digital tools and platforms.

As part of your apprenticeship, you’ll receive structured training and dedicated time for learning, while contributing to meaningful projects that support our staff, residents and communities. This role offers the chance to develop valuable skills in video editing, graphic design, social media management and campaign delivery - experience that will help you grow professionally and make a real impact.

Hybrid – a mix of office‑based and remote working, with attendance at office in Godalming as required.
