We’re a passionate, fast-growing team delivering an impactful, technically sophisticated product – and central to our continued success is an exceptional Head of QA.


Position overview


Our QA and Support teams do an incredible job helping customers and keeping output to the highest of standards, and as we grow we are looking for an experienced Head of QA to refine our process, systems and strategic thinking and allow us to offer the same level of quality to an ever-growing list of publications.


This is a leadership role – you’ll build on existing efforts, adding further rigour and efficiency, and help ensure our software is robust, scalable and consistently excellent.


You’ll be expected to bring substantial experience working in fast-paced environments, balancing urgent fixes with long-term improvements, and creating systems that proactively surface and reduce issues.

Responsibilities:


* Design, implement and lead FlatPlan’s QA strategy across multiple teams and timezones
* Build and maintain triage systems that categorise and prioritise bugs effectively
* Introduce processes that make QA visible and repeatable
* Help us to continuously improve output and processes
* Identify patterns in bugs, regressions and cosmetic issues – and feed these into development roadmaps
* Work closely with project management and lead engineers to define and deliver fixes that reduce backlog
* Develop a clear, centralised knowledge base and documentation process for QA/support
* Coach, support and lead QA team members
* Own and improve QA KPIs and reporting structures
* Champion a culture of quality across the company


Minimum Requirements:


* 6+ years in QA roles, including 3+ years in leadership at a growing software/SaaS company
* A track record of building QA teams, systems and strategies from scratch or improving them significantly
* Deep understanding of modern QA practices across frontend, backend and API layers
* Experience balancing urgent bug triage with long-term quality improvements
* Fluency in QA tools, bug tracking platforms and documentation tools
* Strong communication and collaboration skills – you’ll work across support, product, engineering and leadership
* Exceptional attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying risks
* A love of process, structure, and clear documentation
