Job Title: Systemic Family Therapist – Hours: 37 – Salary: HC10 £46,142–£50,269 per annum – Contract: Permanent – Closing date: Thursday 21/05/2026 – Interview date: TBC
We are looking for a Systemic Family Therapist to join the ECHO team (Edge of Care – Home) in the Children and Families Directorate, Herefordshire. The ECHO team supports children and young people on the Edge of Care and facilitates their reunification with birth parents after a period in care.
The Systemic Family Therapist will be responsible for specialised systemic and family assessments and interventions for families with complex needs, integrating other approaches to meet the holistic needs of children, young people, and their families.
The ideal candidate will be dynamic, enthusiastic, and experienced in systemic family therapy, working effectively with young people, families, carers, and the multidisciplinary team of family support workers, substance misuse workers, domestic abuse workers, and social workers.
Responsibilities include providing specialist services to children, adolescents, and their families/carers and networks of care; supporting the development of systemic practice through consultation and training to colleagues, the multidisciplinary team, and wider professional networks; delivering specialist systemic formulation and assessment; providing initial assessments and duty rota support; and utilising research skills for audit, policy, service development and research.
We seek a candidate motivated to apply systemic practice within diverse and highly complex family situations, capable of working autonomously and within a multidisciplinary network, and prepared for various settings including family homes. Candidates must be UKCP‑registered and hold a professional qualification in systemic family therapy.
