The Base Services Support role will work with both the chef team to help with meal preparation and the domestic team to ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of amenities at Scott Base.
Key Responsibilities Include:
1. Ensuring all common areas, bathrooms and work areas are maintained in a clean and hygienic condition and are fit for purpose on a daily basis
2. Preparation of accommodation areas for occupation and undertaking laundry duties
3. Assisting chefs with food preparation and cooking.
4. Assisting chefs with dishes and keeping kitchen clean and hygienic.
5. Assist with bar service and demonstrate host responsibility with regard to service of alcohol
6. Positively contribute to the overall base culture and assist with proactively identifying community needs
7. Serve on the Scott Base Fire Crew
This is a 6-month (summer) role from approximately August 2026 to February 2027.

Skills and Experience Include:
8. Experience in commercial cleaning or housekeeping
9. Experience working in a professional kitchen
10. Experience working in a hospitality setting with service of alcohol
11. Ability to adhere to rostered tasks in an efficient and effective manner
12. Ability to demonstrate a strong customer service focus
13. Physical and psychological resilience to meet the demands of this active role
14. Current full NZ Class 1 driver’s licence and ability to drive a manual vehicle
