Electrician Sector: Food Manufacturing (non-meat) Location: Suffolk Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent Salary: £41,637 per annum Hours: Days - Monday to Friday iSQ Recruitment is looking for an experienced Electrician to join a well-established, busy, food manufacturing site in Suffolk. In this hands-on, site-based position, you’ll be responsible for a mix of planned and reactive maintenance, electrical fault-finding, and the delivery of small improvement projects. Working within a fast-moving production environment, you’ll help ensure that equipment runs reliably, safely, and to the highest standards. * Please note this client does not offer Visa sponsorship, only candidates with full Right to Work in the UK, a full UK driving license / own vehicle, and relevant experience will be considered. What’s on Offer: Typically Monday to Friday days (40-hour week). Flexibility on start/finish times. Standby allowance for being on call every other week, plus overtime payment for any callouts. Key Responsibilities: Carry out electrical servicing, repairs, and maintenance across a diverse range of plant and equipment. Conduct fault finding, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance tasks to minimise breakdowns. Work confidently with electrical drawings, schematics, and symbols. Support and manage small-scale electrical projects from design through to installation and commissioning. Ensure compliance with all relevant electrical and safety standards. Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to resolve technical issues and implement improvements. Essential Criteria: You’ll be an experienced Electrician / Industrial Electrician with: A recognised electrical apprenticeship / NVQ Level 3 or equivalent. 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification. Previous experience within production / manufacturing. Strong fault-finding and analytical skills with a logical approach to problem solving. Experience working with PLCs, VSDs, soft starts, sensors, weighing equipment, and general process control systems. A solid understanding of preventative maintenance practices and production plant operations. The ability to work independently and manage small-scale improvement projects. Flexibility to be on call every other week. Full UK driving license & access to own car. Full Right to Work in the UK. Desirable Criteria: Familiarity with Mitsubishi or Siemens PLCs and software. A multi-skilled background with mechanical or pneumatics knowledge. Inspection and testing qualifications (2391 or equivalent). Previous experience maintaining machinery in a food or process manufacturing environment.
