Senior HR Advisor | Lead | London | Hybrid
A leading law firm is seeking a Lead Senior HR Advisor to play a pivotal role in delivering a high‐quality, commercially focused HR service across the business.
This is a senior advisory and people‐leadership role, combining hands‐on HR delivery with oversight of HR Advisors and Assistants, and close partnership with HR Business Partners and senior stakeholders.
The role
* Lead and supervise a central team of HR Advisors and HR Assistants, providing coaching, mentoring, and guidance
* Deliver end‐to‐end HR advisory support across the employee lifecycle for designated client groups
* Act as a trusted advisor to managers on complex employee relations matters, including performance, absence, and investigations
* Oversee HR workflow management, shared inboxes, SLAs, and process efficiency
* Support recruitment activity from role approval through onboarding, working closely with Talent Acquisition
* Draft and amend job descriptions and lead job evaluation for new roles
* Prepare business cases for headcount approvals and intention‐to‐hire requests
* Ensure compliance with employment law, regulatory obligations, and internal HR policies
* Use HR data and metrics to provide insight, reporting, and decision‐making support
* Contribute to firmwide people initiatives including DE&I, wellbeing, reward, and performance management
* Lead and coordinate HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives
About you
* CIPD qualified (or equivalent experience)
* Proven experience as a Senior HR Advisor, ideally within a law firm or professional services environment
* Confident managing and developing HR team members
* Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
* Comfortable advising on sensitive and complex people matters
* Highly organised, detail‐driven, and able to manage competing priorities
* Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
* Proficient with HR systems and Microsoft Office
