The Role:
This is a unique opportunity for a Business Development Manager to join a fast-growing, London-based B2B event organiser known for curating high-impact industry forums across the retail, healthcare, and veterinary sectors.
As Business Development Manager, you'll focus heavily on outreach - around 70% of your time will be spent prospecting and securing senior-level buyers and innovative suppliers to participate in global networking events. In addition, you'll coach and mentor a Sales Executive working on the event, dedicating about 20% of your time to leadership responsibilities while still contributing individually.
Beyond business development, you'll play a key role in the full event cycle - from initial concept through to post-show analysis - working closely with cross-functional teams including marketing, operations, and senior leadership. This role includes international travel to events in exciting locations such as the Middle East, United States, Spain, and the Pacific region.
Your goal? To deliver best-in-class event experiences that connect people, spark meaningful relationships, and drive real commercial outcomes.
What you'll need to succeed in the Business Development Manager role:
- Minimum 2 years' B2B sales or business development experience
- Experience in events, exhibitions, or conferences strongly preferred
- Experience selling into veterinary, retail, or healthcare sectors advantageous
- Background in hospitality or customer experience welcome
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Commercially focused, with the ability to meet and exceed targets
- Organised and detail-oriented with strong project management skills
- Adaptable, collaborative, and motivated by a fast-paced environment
