Business Development Advisor - Entry Level
Location: Office based in Milton Keynes - Hybrid
About the Job
Managing customer accounts and driving growth, you’ll work closely with Ingram Micro’s existing customers and vendor partners to build strong relationships, identify new business opportunities, and grow accounts as part of a collaborative and high‑performing team.
This entry‑level role is ideal for someone looking to start or develop a career in business development and sales. You don’t need previous sales experience – although if you have some, that’s a great advantage. The role suits candidates with experience in retail, customer service, call centre, or telesales who enjoy speaking with customers, building relationships, and are motivated by targets and career progression.
We provide the experience, tools, and training to support your development. We’ll teach you the fundamentals of business development, helping you build confidence, commercial awareness, and the skills needed to grow and succeed.
What you can expect to be getting up to as an Account Advisor
* Managing customer accounts and building a strong understanding of their business and goals
* Developing trusted relationships that support long‑term customer growth
* Identifying and converting sales opportunities to achieve and exceed targets
* Managing your pipeline and keeping opportunities accurately updated
* Positioning Ingram Micro’s value proposition to grow customer spend
* Learning our systems, tools, and vendor programmes to become confident and effective in the role
In order to set you up for success, we are looking for the following skills and experience
* A confident communicator with excellent verbal and written skills
* Experience in a customer‑facing environment such as sales, call centre, telesales, retail, or customer service
* Comfortable working as part of a team in a fast‑paced, target‑driven environment
* Strong PC literacy, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
* A proactive mindset with enthusiasm to learn and develop into a subject matter expert
* An interest in IT or technology and a desire to build a career in sales or business development
