With continued growth in our civil engineering division, we’re looking to expand our field team with skilled professionals.
The Role
As a Telecoms Civil Engineer, you’ll be responsible for carrying out essential civil works involved in the deployment and maintenance of fibre networks. This includes excavation, ducting, reinstatement, and related activities, often in public highways or private land.
You will be working as part of a small team delivering full-fibre infrastructure builds in a fast-paced, high-compliance environment.
Key Responsibilities
· Perform excavation, trenching, duct laying, backfilling and reinstatement to industry standards.
· Install chambers, draw ropes, and access points for fibre cable installation.
· Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with NRSWA regulations.
· Read and follow network and site drawings.
· Liaise with supervisors, fibre engineers, and clients to ensure smooth delivery of projects.
· Complete daily job sheets and safety documentation (RAMS, permits, etc.)
Requirements
· Proven experience in telecoms or utility civil engineering (2+ years preferably on Openreach Network)
· NRSWA (Street Works) accreditation – operative level (desirable – training can be provided)
· Manual handling, CAT & Genny, abrasive wheels, and confined space training (desirable).
· Full UK driving licence (clean preferred).
· Strong awareness of health, safety, and environmental standards.
· Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions and travel as required.
