You will lead and manage the provision of business partner support, ensuring your team's resources are targeted towards managing key financial risks and major budget pressures. You will also support the Head of Financial Strategy in leading and coordinating medium-term financial planning for the Councils budgets. Responsibilities Provide direct financial support to directors across the Resources Directorate Challenge and test service budget proposals for viability and commercial soundness Act as the gateway to the Shared Finance Service, ensuring access to high-quality advice Support and challenge services to manage key financial risks Offer professional advice on financial implications of service proposals Draft financial comments for Committee Reports Promote a culture of challenge and empowerment within the finance team About You Are you an experienced finance professional with a strong background in strategic financial planning and business partnering? You will need the following: Experience working alongside senior managers in a senior finance role Background in a customer-focused finance team Proven ability to deliver strategic finance advice in a large, complex organisation Skilled in advising and challenging budget holders and finance colleagues A relevant professional qualification (e.g., CIPFA, CIMA, MBA) or equivalent experience operating at that level Additional Information Contract Duration: 34 months Working Hours: 36 hours per week Application Deadline: 19th June 2025!
