Responsibilities
* The post holder will support the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse in the delivery of quality care and the provision of a continuous efficient and effective service. In addition, the role will support the provision and post procedural care of other imaging guided procedures.
* Provide supplementary leadership to the nursing team, keeping Departmental and Trust objectives in focus.
* Supervise, manage and develop the nursing team in line with the direction of the Lead Nurse.
* Facilitate the on‑going professional development of newly appointed staff, junior or less experienced Nurses, Imaging Assistants, Student Nurses and Radiographers / Radiography Students in accordance with Imperial Trust policies and procedures.
* At all times adhere to all Imperial policies and procedures and NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
* Maintain the high standards outlined in the Department's Philosophy of Care by keeping abreast of current research and promoting best practice.
* Support the service improvement programme, actively participating in data collection, process mapping and meetings as required.
Qualifications
* Years of experience in a critical care setting.
* At least one year’s experience in Radiology Nursing.
* Enjoyment of the technical aspects of nursing and enthusiasm for providing high‑quality patient care in a highly specialised area.
* Ability to work effectively with multi‑professional teams and demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Hammersmith Hospital is a specialist centre for Renal, Hepato‑biliary, Haematology, Pulmonary and Oncology. Our supportive nursing team offers a unique combination of technical and high‑dependency nursing skills, working in conjunction with radiologists, radiographic staff and anaesthetists to provide care for complex patients across all imaging modalities including Angio, CT, Ultrasound, MRI, Recovery and Nuclear medicine.
