Technical Development Manager - Personal Care
Full-Time | Permanent - Home-Based with Regular UK and European Travel

We are working on behalf of a leading chemicals distributor to recruit a Technical Development Manager to support growth within the Personal Care sector.

5. Are you based in or willing to travel throughout the East of England, East Midlands, East Anglia, and London area?
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about formulation science and enjoys working directly with customers to shape product innovation.
THE ROLE
You’ll lead technical development projects with personal care customers, promoting the company's raw materials and services to drive product innovation and approvals.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
6. Initiate and manage technical projects with personal care customers.
7. Provide technical guidance to R&D departments throughout the development cycle.
8. Deliver internal and external presentations showcasing raw materials and formulation expertise.
9. Work collaboratively with account managers and suppliers on joint customer visits.
10. Support formulation development activities in the company's application lab.
11. Advise customers on formulation challenges and manufacturing issues.
12. Maintain KPIs, visit schedules and an up-to-date opportunity pipeline.
13. Build strong and trusted relationships with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
Must-have:
14. Degree in a Life Science field
15. Experience in personal care formulation and the chemical industry
16. Strong communication and presentation skills
17. Excellent organisation and time management
18. Strategic thinking with strong customer focus
19. Proficiency in Microsoft Office
20. Full, clean UK driving licence
Nice-to-have:
21. Commercial awareness
22. People-management experience
23. Knowledge of manufacturing processes
