Your Role
As a Product Application Development Technologist (m/f/d), you will play a key role in the day-to-day execution of beverage application work. You will be responsible for preparing and delivering high-quality samples, supporting product trials, and ensuring reliable laboratory and pilot plant operations. Through close collaboration with Development Managers, Project Leaders, and technical teams, you will help ensure that projects are executed efficiently, safely, and in full compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
Your key responsibilities:
* Prepare flavour, compound, emulsion, or RTD samples independently and accurately according to recipes and mixing instructions for both sample orders and project needs.
* Manage daily workload and prioritize tasks to ensure timely completion in alignment with the Development Manager.
* Participate in production meetings and product trials, and communicate relevant information to PADTs and Project Leaders.
* Deliver finalized samples to Project Leaders and notify them of any delays or product instabilities such as solubility or sedimentation issues.
* Utilize Symrise software programs (SAP, Excel, Access, Outlook, Teams, Microsoft Office) for documentation and communication.
* Monitor critical control points such as pasteurization and support special tasks including stock management and equipment maintenance.
* Contribute to sensory panels, onboard new employees, and complete all assigned safety trainings on time.
* Ensure compliance with B2C processes, internal Symrise rules, GMP manufacturing standards, and health, safety, and environmental regulations.
* Maintain cleanliness and functionality of the laboratory, support pilot plant compounding and bottling, and assist with sampling services.
* Manage raw material inventory, monitor expiration dates, and handle disposal of expired items.
* Support lab maintenance reviews, servicing, and calibration, and proactively suggest equipment updates or replacements.
Your Profile
* A college degree in Food, Food Science, Chemical Engineering or an equivalent scientific field is required.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in Food Science, ideally in new product development, is preferred.
* Strong functional and technical skills, particularly in Food and Beverage Technology, Culinary Science, and Manufacturing processes, are essential.
* A strong Play to Win mindset in Innovation is necessary to deliver On Time In Full (OTIF).
* Comfortable working in a multicultural environment with the ability to build effective networks.
* Good legislation knowledge for Beverage and Flavor guidelines.
* Good project management skills are required.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is necessary.
* English language proficiency at B2 level or higher is mandatory.
