Offer description

Product Engineering at JLR is centred on innovation and creativity. From advanced driver assistance systems to developing the future of electric propulsion, the opportunities to create exceptional experiences for the future of motoring are wide-ranging. You'll work alongside industry experts to drive product strategy, manage programs, analyse performance, and lead transformation initiatives. Exceptional careers that bring world‑renowned vehicles to life start here. Come and join JLR as a Product Owner – Chassis & Suspension Systems! We're on the lookout for a proven Product Owner to play a key part in the continued growth and success of our Axle Function Group. In this role, you will sit at the centre of suspension system development, shaping delivery from early concept through to production and ongoing lifecycle support for your assigned vehicle platform. Working closely with engineering, programme, and business stakeholders, you will ensure priorities are aligned and value is delivered at every stage. You will take ownership of the product backlog, balance technical and customer requirements, and help drive robust, high‑quality solutions across complex vehicle programmes. You will also play an important role in championing Agile ways of working within the group, supporting continuous improvement and the adoption of best practice. This is a highly collaborative role suited to someone who enjoys influencing outcomes, solving problems, and working in a technically rich and fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities

* Own the overall purpose, vision, and outcomes of the squad, acting as the central decision maker on priorities based on business value and customer impact.
* Set and drive delivery direction through effective backlog management, iterative ways of working, and rapid reprioritisation to maximise value and minimise risk.
* Champion Agile ways of working by supporting and participating in key ceremonies, working closely with the Scrum Master to embed, maintain, and improve Agile processes.
* Ensure strong alignment and coordination with interacting squads and wider stakeholder groups, confidently communicating progress, risks, issues, and feasible solutions at all levels.
* Actively challenge the status quo where appropriate, while maintaining focus on agreed deliverables, timelines, and programme objectives.
* Set, monitor, and challenge programme budgets across both development and production phases, ensuring financial discipline and transparency.
* Support the squad in resolving key technical issues, responding quickly to changing customer needs through fast feedback loops and informed decision making.

Qualifications

* Mechanical Engineering-based degree (MEng, BEng, MSc or BSc), or equivalent relevant experience.
* Working knowledge and practical experience of Agile and Scrum product delivery methodologies.
* Proven experience across product creation and delivery, including product definition and change management.
* Highly organised, flexible, and self‑motivated, with the ability to manage multiple priorities across diverse teams and high‑priority engineering workstreams.
* Confident decision‑maker with strong interpersonal skills, able to set direction independently and drive outcomes.
* Strong structured problem‑solving capability, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical and delivery challenges.
* Experience viewing and interrogating CAD models using Catia v5 or Catia v6 (Dassault Systèmes 3DEXPERIENCE).

Benefits

This role is rewarding in more ways than one. On top of our core offering, you'll do extraordinary work with amazing people. In addition, you can expect a wide range of benefits:

* Discounted car purchase (open to family members, too).
* A 52 week maternity leave policy and a 4 week paternity leave policy. Other parental leave policies are available.
* A competitive pension.
* A JLR company performance‑related bonus.
* An employee learning scheme providing funding for education, training and other activities which support the development of personal skills and promote lifelong learning.
* Access to open, employee‑led support and social networks.
* Comprehensive Life Assurance and Income Protection policies.
* Flexible working.
* Flexible working is offered for specific roles dependant on responsibilities. Please speak to the hiring team for details.

Working arrangements

Creating Modern Luxury requires a modern approach to work. At JLR, hybrid working is a voluntary, non‑contractual arrangement providing employees more choice and flexibility around how, when and where they work. Some roles require more on‑site work, but details of this can be discussed with the hiring manager during the interview stage. We work hard to nurture a culture that is inclusive and welcoming to all. We understand candidates may require reasonable adjustments during the recruitment process. Please discuss these with your recruiter so we can accommodate your needs.
