Full-Time, Fixed Term (Maternity Cover for 12 months)
Applications are invited for the post of Head of Wellbeing Support (Maternity Cover) working within the Directorate of Student Life at Royal Holloway University of London. The role will be available from November 2025.
This is a fixed term post to cover a period of maternity leave for 12 months. This appointment could end earlier than expected should the substantive post-holder return to work early.
This role provides an exciting opportunity to lead a dedicated team of Wellbeing Advisers and play an important role in the delivery of Royal Holloway’s wellbeing and experience offering. The Directorate of Student Life includes a broad range of student facing teams who are core to the student journey: Active Lifestyle & Sport, Chaplaincy, Counselling & Mental Health, Disability & Neurodiversity, Hall Life, International & Money Advice, Student Engagement & Insights and Wellbeing Support & Community
Reporting to the Director of Student Life they will contribute to the work of the Directorate and support the strategy and aims of the University and Student Journey Division. Role holders will be expected to demonstrate our University values - being Daring, Innovative, Open and Respectful – in their work and be a champion of equality, diversity and inclusion.
They will be required to will be expected to take responsibility for the delivery of implementation plans and targets set with the Directorate annual plan relating to the areas of wellbeing support and guidance and provide capable and supportive leadership to the team.
We are also seeking a candidate who has good experience of delivering wellbeing services to young adults, and someone who will contribute to continuous improvement by listening and responding to student voice and insight and make data-driven decisions on services where required.
With roles in Student Life there is a need for some campus-based working to enable in-person student appointments (based on student preference and need) but there will be some opportunity for working remotely each week.
