Are you passionate about supporting people with learning disabilities (LD) and improving their quality of life?
There is an option for band 7s to complete a preceptorship with the aim of developing the required competencies for an 8a post. Candidates would need to successfully complete this before they gain the band 8a and this would not be achieved due to length of time in post.
You will join a supportive team including Psychiatry, Psychology, Nursing, OT, Physiotherapy, SALT, Dietetics and support staff. The MDT works together to support adults with LD and their families/carers across Kirklees.
This post involves direct assessment, formulation and intervention work with service users and indirect work with families/carers and providers. You will also be involved in audit, service evaluation and clinical governance. We are looking for candidates who demonstrate a positive attitude to working with PWLD and a commitment to promoting a high quality of life for this client group. Interest and/or experience in undertaking diagnostic assessments and therapeutic interventions with PWLD would be an advantage.
The post holder will have opportunities for engaging in service development, teaching/training, research and CPD. The successful candidate will be supported by the Trust to undertake accredited specialist training if needed. The Trust offers flexible/hybrid working and staff are supported to work agilely.
To support you, we offer a robust supervision framework and you will be supervised by a Consultant Clinical Psychologist. We offer clinical and leadership development programs, as well as a range of CPD opportunities, from one-day workshops to fully accredited courses.
The Team works closely with the Leeds Clinical Psychology Doctorate programme and regularly take trainees on placement.
