Position Summary
Magellan Aerospace, Llay Wrexham has an exciting opportunity for a Designated Supplier Quality Representative.

* Full Time Permanent Contract
* 39 hours per week.
* Job location: Llay, Wrexham, LL12 0PB.
* Unionised site – works in partnership with Unite the Union.

To be the customers' single point of contact for all quality related problems and complaints. The post holder will ensure the efficient handling and resolution of all customer complaints, and the timely response back to the customer. This includes ensuring robust quality investigation into root causes and the deployment of associated corrective actions. The DSQR is also responsible for handling returned parts.

Essential Responsibilities

* To act as the point of contact for customer for all complaints regarding product quality issues.
* To manage customer complaint handling from receipt through containment/investigation into RCCA and final close out and response back to the customer.
* Conducting the monthly Collaboration meeting and agreeing ppm score with the customer.
* Representation of Magellan Aerospace (UK) Ltd in formal meetings with the customer as required.
* Generation of monthly reports/presentation packs/information as required for internal business meetings such as PRM and BU Reviews
* Generation of monthly KPIs to show business performance with respect to customer complaints and business R1
* Run a regular (daily if reqd) meeting with the Manufacturing Quality Team to ensure timely progression of live complaints and the discussion and handover of all new complaints for investigation.
* Reviewing completed investigation reports into customer complaints and to approve content wrt adequate 8D steps before closure. To challenge and reject any back to the originator where further work/investigation/detail is required.
* Responsible for following and applying the process as defined in the SOP/procedure that governs the customer care/complaints process.
* The maintenance of the Concerns Log where all complaints are registered, specifically ensuring that all fields are completed such as NCR or RDN numbers and that no gaps are evident upon report closure
* Responsible for the running and/or participation in specific Improvement Projects to agreed timescales as agreed with line management where requested
* Managing and maintenance of the Goods Return facility, ensuring the safekeeping and timely processing of returned parts/product both in and out of the area.
* Agreeing any necessary remedial action with the customer and organising for it to be done in conjunction with MQ/Production /other stakeholders
* To liaise with the customer on a regular basis and build a relationship such that communication is frequent and efficient.
* To ensure regular feedback to customers on investigation progress and conclusion,
* The conducting of any other tasks as delegated by line management.

Position Requirements
Academic:

* Engineering or technical degree, HND, HNC, ONC, C&G/TEC certification in appropriate engineering discipline.

Professional Accreditations:

* Essential - Mechanical engineering/craft apprenticeship or training in a technical/engineering environment.

Experience:

* Quality investigation and reporting. Familiarity with Quality tools 5Y/Ishikawa diagrams & 8D methodology
* Aerospace manufacturing of machining and machining processes
* Aerospace manufacturing of Treatments processes including special processes, components, sub-assemblies and assemblies.
* The inspection of parts and product to drawing, standards and specifications
* Aerospace Assembly processes
* Customer facing experience
* Processing of non-conforming parts and completion of NCRs.
* Experience of CI methodology and tools and experience of participation of CI projects

Note:
Experience of the above preferred but not essential for all categories.

Key Competencies:

* Attention to detail, technical report writing, reading engineering drawings, robust understanding of quality tools, comfortable in front of the customer and making presentations, diplomacy.

Other skills/Abilities/Personal Attributes:

* Experience of leading quality investigations into reported non conformity through a structured problem solving process such as 8D, DMAIC.
* Proficiency with MSOffice packages e.g. PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
* Ability to write a clear, succinct well-structured technical report on investigations conducted or CI activity completed.
* Experience of the regular use of standard quality tools and concepts such as 5Y, Poka Yoke etc.
* Personal Attributes: Tenacity, diligence, ability to act on own initiative and without supervision and the ability to work under pressure
* Integrity – strength of character to stand by decisions and to not be adversely influenced or coerced into taking action which may compromise quality.
* Ability to clearly communicate and work with others and to impart information whether positive or adverse.
