We are looking for trainee bus drivers to join our Stockport team immediately. You'll be paid to learn how to drive a bus at our expert driving academy, become part of a great community, and get rewarded for a job you love.
Trainee Bus Driver (including Apprenticeship qualification)

2. Earn while you learn, we provide fully paid training to help you gain your PCV licence and enhancing your learning through a Level 2 Apprenticeship Qualification.
3. Based at our Stockport depot, located at Daw Bank SK3 0DU in the town centre.
4. Pay rate during training of £12.75 per hour (training will last 6 – 8 weeks)
5. Annual earnings of £27,525 following completion of training for the first year, rising to £33,592 pa after one year’s service based on 38 hours per week as a qualified Bus Driver. Hourly rate is £13.93 during the first year (after 6-8 weeks training) then £17 per hour after 12 months service. There are also enhanced rates for weekend work.
6. Shift patterns involve 5/7 day working including weekends. Individual shifts ranging from 0330 to 0200 hours. Shome shifts involve working in the peak and evening peak only.

No experience driving a bus? No problem! We’ll pay you whilst we invest significantly in your training. You’ll gain your PCV licence as part of our Level 2 Bus Driver Apprenticeship which will equip you with everything you need to succeed on the road. The Apprenticeship Scheme gives you a structured training programme throughout your first year leading to an externally recognised qualification equivalent to GCSE level with no impact on your role, pay or hours. All we ask for is a great attitude to learning, a genuine desire to make a positive difference to people’s daily lives, a passion for exceptional customer experience and a full UK driving licence.

Our Stockport depot
At our Stockport depot, we operate a fleet of 125 buses covering the areas of Stockport, Ashton, Didsbury, Stretford and the Trafford Centre, Altrincham, South Manchester, Marple, Hyde, Wythenshawe, Romiley, Hazel Grove, Bramhall, Brinnington, Denton, Offerton, Adswood, Cheadle, Gatley and Cheadle Hulme with a team of around 400 Drivers.

14. Completing our industry leading training, securing your PCV licence followed by ongoing CPC training and professional development alongside gaining your Level 2 Bus Driver Apprenticeship

What do you need to apply?
20. You need to be 18 years old and hold a driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points
21. A minimum of 1 year’s driving experience in the UK
22. Right to work in the UK (You will need to have been in the UK for a minimum of 183 days as part of DVLA requirement). Your right to work must extend to 2 years from the date of employment.
