Specialty Doctor in Ophthalmology role at NakedK9 Design, LLC. The position is based at Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust in Cornwall, with responsibilities across the Royal Cornwall Hospital, Truro, associated hospitals, and peripheral sites.
Job Summary
We are looking to appoint an experienced and motivated individual to join our Ophthalmology team. The post is aimed at providing ophthalmology services including general and sub-specialist care such as glaucoma, retina, and eye casualty. The post holder will work with Consultant sub-specialty leads to mitigate risks and support the service’s administrative team in organizing, planning and maintaining a safe and well-led service. The post offers a regular 10 PA job plan with rotation between sub-specialties (retina, glaucoma, minor ops, emergency work). A team-based approach to relationships within the department and with other specialties is expected. Candidates will be encouraged to engage in clinical audit, governance, quality improvement and innovation.
Main duties
* Examination, investigation, diagnosis, treatment and discharge of patients.
* Independent outpatient clinics including an emergency eye clinic.
* Perform laser and minor operative procedures as needed.
* Participation in 1 in 7 on-call rota.
* Supervision of junior medical staff during working hours.
* involvement in Clinical Audit, teaching and research.
* Additional duties as required within the grade (temporary or permanent).

Requirements
Qualifications
* Full registration with licence to practice with the General Medical Council.
* MRCOphth or equivalent.
Experience
* Essential: Experience as a specialty trainee or specialty doctor in general ophthalmology service including clinics, surgery and relevant subspecialty; teaching (medical students, peers, MDT).
* Desirable: UK subspecialty experience in ophthalmology; specific history in emergency ophthalmology.
UK Registration and Compliance
* UK registration and current professional registration with NHS requirements.
* DBS/Disclosure as applicable; Rehabilitation of Offenders Act considerations.
* Certificate of Sponsorship considerations for skilled workers; criminal record checks for overseas applicants as applicable.
