Specialist CYP Eating Disorders Occupational Therapist. The CYP Eating Disorders Day Hospital Service is currently mobilising. This specialist provision delivers intensive, evidence-based care to children & young people experiencing moderate to severe eating disorders. This innovative service aims to bridge the gap between inpatient and community care, offering a safe and structured alternative to Tier 4 admission and facilitating earlier discharge from hospital settings. Operating through a MDT, the role provides holistic, person-centred care, supporting physical health monitoring, nutritional rehabilitation, psychosocial interventions and occupational engagement tailored to each young person and their family.

Key responsibilities include:

* In-reach and outreach support to prevent unnecessary hospital admissions and reduce relapse.
* Intensive day hospital interventions focused on recovery, risk management and re-engagement with daily life.
* Meal support and psychoeducation for young people and their families to promote sustainable recovery at home.
* Multidisciplinary care planning and supervision to ensure continuity and quality of care across settings.
* Training and consultation to professionals and carers to enhance system-wide understanding and support for eating disorders.

Main duties

* To provide specialist occupational therapy service to children & young people with eating disorders.
* To undertake comprehensive assessments of each patient\'s needs to formulate individualised management and treatment plans.
* To provide specialist advice to patients with eating disorders deemed to be at high physical risk, including identifying such risks (e.g., risk of refeeding syndrome) and providing appropriate nutritional advice in liaison with the MDT, medical and dietetic colleagues and acute medical services as necessary.
* Deliver a range of non-pharmacological interventions following Occupational Therapy assessments to understand unmet needs and maximise an individual\'s abilities.
* Complete and contribute to robust risk assessments and risk management plans.
* Utilise agreed outcome measures as part of the care planning and evaluation process.
