SEN Teaching Assistant – Darwen Location: Darwen, Lancashire Contract: Temporary (potential to become permanent) Hours: Full-time (Monday–Friday) Start Date: ASAP A mixed primary and secondary SEN school in Darwen is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team. This position is initially temporary through an agency, with the potential to become permanent for the right person. Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN Assist teachers with lesson preparation and classroom management Promote positive learning behaviour and pupil independence Help implement individual learning and behaviour plans Work closely with the SENCO and wider school team to support pupil progress Requirements: Experience supporting children or young people with SEN (school or care setting) Calm, patient, and proactive approach Good communication and teamwork skills Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, CACHE, or equivalent) are desirable but not essential This is a great opportunity to join a caring, inclusive school community where every day brings a new challenge and a chance to make a difference.
