We're looking to recruit an Alarm Reporting Centre / CCTV Team Leader to join our new Control Team based in Taunton.Reporting to the Physical Security Team Manager, you be responsible for the operational leadership, performance, and development of a team of ARC & CCTV Operators delivering 24/7 security monitoring and incident response services.The postholder will ensure that alarms, CCTV events, and security incidents are managed professionally, consistently, and in full compliance with company policy, regulatory obligations, and governance standards. The role plays a critical part in maintaining the safety and security of NGED's people, assets, and sites, acting as a key escalation point during incidents and providing leadership during high-pressure situations.The Team Leader will drive service excellence, develop team capability, and contribute to the continuous improvement and resilience of ARC & CCTV operations.Initial training will take place at our Lamby Way depot in Cardiff. You can expect a mixture of daytime and night-time training over a period of approximately 2–3 weeks. Travel, accommodation, and allowances will be provided in line with NGED policy.This role is 37 hours per week. Our vision is to be at the heart of a clean, fair and affordable energy future and we are doing this in a fast-moving industry with an increasing focus on tackling climate change, exploring new energy sources that are renewable, low carbon, and improve efficiency to meet demand.Main ResponsibilitiesOperational Security DeliveryLead the day-to-day operational delivery of ARC & CCTV services, ensuring alarms and incidents are handled accurately, consistently, and within agreed response standards.Act as an escalation point for complex or high-risk incidents, providing decisive leadership and direction during live events.Ensure operational readiness at all times, maintaining situational awareness across live systems and team activity.Team Leadership & DevelopmentProvide visible leadership to ARC & CCTV Operators, fostering a culture of professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement.Conduct regular one-to-ones, performance reviews, and development discussions.Create and maintain personal development plans, supporting training, mentoring, and succession planning.Resource Planning & Rota ManagementManage team rotas to ensure appropriate staffing levels, skill mix, and resilience across all shifts.Monitor attendance, fatigue, and wellbeing, taking appropriate action where required.Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members.Incident & Emergency ManagementLead and coordinate responses to security incidents, ensuring effective communication with internal stakeholders and emergency services.Ensure incidents are logged, escalated, and resolved in line with procedures.Conduct post-incident reviews, identifying lessons learned and improvement actions.Compliance, Governance & ReportingEnsure compliance with internal security policies, regulatory requirements, and audit standards.Produce accurate reports for audits, incident reviews, and management information.Maintain oversight of documentation, logs, and evidence to support assurance and compliance.Stakeholder EngagementLiaise effectively with internal departments, site teams, and senior stakeholders.Maintain professional working relationships with external partners, including emergency services and system providers.Continuous ImprovementIdentify opportunities to improve processes, systems, and ways of working.Support the Physical Security Manager with operational initiatives, change implementation, and service enhancements.Deputising ResponsibilitiesDeputise for the Physical Security Manager of the ARC as required, providing leadership continuity and operational oversight.The Ideal CandidateStrong working knowledge of CCTV systems, Alarm monitoring and incident response process'sDemonstrated ability to lead teams in high pressure and time critical situationsStrong communication skills and decision making skillsGood understanding of compliance, governance and audit requirements within security operationsMust be able to travel to site within a 60 minute period due to the criticality of the role.Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role ideally within a security, monitoring or control room environment.Experience within critical national infrastructure (desirable).Knowledge of security standards and regulations (desirable).Experience in operational security improvements and operational change (desirable)As the post you are applying for attracts a National Security Vetting clearance there are further eligibility requirements, information can be found on the gov.uk website.
