We have an exciting opportunity for a Prosthetic Technician to join our existing team at Head Office in Leeds.
We have a clinic at Seacroft hospital, and a manufacturing facility at Steeper’s head office, this role will be primarily based at our head office, although the successful candidate may be required to work at either site, by prior arrangement.
The Role:
To manufacture and repair all upper and lower limb prostheses and associated products as instructed and in accordance with the specification laid down by the prosthetist and component manufacturer.
Responsibilities:
* Manufacture and repair of prosthetic limbs in accordance with the specification set out by the prosthetist and component manufacturer.
* Ensure that all limbs are ready for fitting and delivery within the contract dates used at your centre.
* Ensure that all stock is correctly booked out to a relevant job sheet, promptly and legibly.
* Reduce any materials wastage by good working practices.
* Give advice and guidance on the manufacture of prosthetic limbs.
* Help train other members of staff in your area of expertise as required by your branch manager or line manager.
* Work with the prosthetists and line manager in ensuring that you are up to date with new prosthetic componentry and manufacturing techniques.
* Identify any training needs required to fulfil your position within the Company and highlight them to your branch manager.
* Abide by the Company’s health and safety policy while working in the workshop, ensuring your own safety and that of your colleagues.
What we are looking for:
* Experience within the Prosthetic industry would be desirable; however, we welcome applications from individuals with hand skills and any experience of engineering or manufacturing for a trainee role; full training will be provided using our skills matrix to monitor and reward progression.
