Your new role
As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you will ensure the organisation’s IT infrastructure is secure, reliable, and aligned with evolving business needs. You’ll provide technical leadership across infrastructure operations and projects, ensuring systems are robust andpliant.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Leading troubleshooting and performance analysis to maintain operational excellence.
2. Planning, installing, and maintaining infrastructureponents and services.
3. Automating provisioning, testing, and deployment through scripting and configuration tools.
4. Managing configuration strategies and championing best practices.
5. Supporting technical project workstreams and liaising with third-party suppliers.
6. Deploying security measures to maintainpliance withernance frameworks.
7. Installing, configuring, and maintaining core systems, software, and hardware.
What you'll need to succeed
Essential qualifications and experience:
8. Degree in IT or equivalent experience (QCF Level 6 / SQCF Levels 9–10).
9. CCNA certification or equivalent experience.
10. ITIL practitioner or equivalent experience.
11. Strong troubleshooting and project implementation skills in:Microsoft Technologies: Active Directory, Azure, Entra, Microsoft 365, PowerShell scripting, Windows Server 2016–2025.Networking: Firewalls, Routing, Switching, VLANs, VPN, WAN, Wireless.
12. Experience managing infrastructure initiatives and leading workstreams within large-scale projects.
Desirable:
13. PRINCE2, CCIE, Microsoft Associate certifications.
14. Knowledge of Exchange, Group Policy, Hyper-V, InTune, PKI, Palo Alto, DHCP/DNS, storage solutions (HP 3par, Pure), backup/disaster recovery (Veeam), and security tools (Mimecast).
15. Familiarity with scripting (Bicep, Terraform), Linux OS, and monitoring tools (SolarWinds).
