Location: High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire Salary: Competitive Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent Start Date: September 2025 About the Role We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Designated Safeguarding Lead to take a leading role in the promotion of a safe and supportive environment for all pupils and staff. This is a crucial position at the heart of our school’s safeguarding culture and pastoral provision. Key Responsibilities * Lead on all aspects of safeguarding and child protection across the school, in accordance with statutory guidance. * Manage and oversee all safeguarding referrals and concerns, ensuring timely and appropriate responses. * Act as the first point of contact for all safeguarding issues, liaising with external agencies such as social care, the police, and health services. * Deliver safeguarding training and updates to staff, ensuring the school’s compliance with current legislation. * Maintain accurate, confidential records and ensure policies and procedures are effectively implemented and regularly reviewed. * Work closely with the senior leadership team to embed safeguarding into the wider school culture. The Ideal Candidate Will: * Hold a relevant safeguarding qualification and have significant experience in a child protection or pastoral role, ideally within a school setting. * Have an in-depth knowledge of Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) and related safeguarding legislation. * Demonstrate strong leadership, decision-making, and communication skills. * Have experience working with vulnerable children and multi-agency partners. * Be approachable, trustworthy, and able to manage sensitive information with discretion.
