Do you have experience in supporting children/young people on a one-to-one basis and looking for some flexible work?
We are looking for an intervention tutor to work directly with children and young people to help them meet the academic criteria of their peers. The role involves encouraging pupils outside of mainstream settings. This would be in and around the Northamptonshire area - NN8, NN10, NN12, NN14, NN15, NN18.
This academic tutor role involves providing informative, engaging sessions face to face with children at their home or often in a community-based setting (e.g., a local library).
What to expect from this role?
* You will be planning resources around the child’s needs, likely focusing on developing their knowledge in core subjects such as Maths, English, and Science.
* Resourcing engaging and creative lessons to help pupils get back up to speed in their learning.
* Being able to manage and implement different behaviour strategies and coping mechanisms is desirable, as the pupil may have behaviour needs that need to be addressed.
What are we looking for in a tutor?
* Experience working with children or young people.
* A QTS or at least a minimum of two years previous teaching experience.
* A range of behaviour management and coping mechanisms.
* Able to plan and deliver engaging core and cross-curricular sessions.
* Ability to apply skills to help pupils’ education get back on track.
* Checking that pupils are on track to achieve their desired learning outcomes and providing feedback.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
