Job Description
We are currently seeking a hands-on SC Cleared (SC) Senior Subcontract/Technical Buyer to support complex engineering development programmes. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in engineering procurement, able to work closely with technical teams, and manage the end-to-end sourcing of complex test equipment, prototype parts, and engineered materials.
Key Responsibilities:
* Work directly with Engineering teams to understand technical requirements
* Source, evaluate, and procure complex equipment and materials for development projects
* Run RFQs, negotiate pricing, and manage suppliers throughout delivery
* Support subcontract administration (no heavy contract drafting required)
* Manage purchasing activity for prototype and low-volume engineered items
* Work within secure Defence environments
Essential Experience:
* Strong background in technical/engineering procurement
* Experience purchasing test equipment, electronic/mechanical components, or technical materials
* Proven ability to engage with engineers and translate requirements into purchasing actions
* Supplier management, negotiation, RFQ management
* Defence, aerospace, or other secure engineering project experience
