Falmouth High School is seeking a dynamic and innovative full-time Spanish teacher for the 2025-2026 school year only. This individual will teach five sections of student-centered classes in Spanish (college prep. and Honors) designed to develop clear and effective communicators who have a deep understanding of and appreciation for world languages. Other full-time faculty responsibilities include serving as an advisor, supporting independent student learning initiatives, and taking an active role in the school community in support of student learning and wellness. Falmouth teachers are expected to engage in ongoing professional learning, authentic collaboration with other faculty and staff, and regular goal-setting and reflection. The ongoing need for this position will be re-evaluated at the close of 2025/2026.
The ideal candidate:
* is passionate about teaching Spanish and has genuine concern for students’ academic growth and character development
* has strong educational background and teaching experience in Spanish
* has a demonstrated history of employing innovative pedagogies that are grounded in strong understanding of adolescent development and learning theory
* possesses the ability to differentiate instruction and help students master the subject matter despite different skill levels or ages
* confidently integrates technology to advance education in the classroom
* prioritizes positive collegial interactions and collaborative relationships with other teachers
* possesses excellent communication and organizational skills
* is culturally competent and supports diverse learners
* The ability to teach introductory level classes in French would be appreciated but not required.
Qualifications:
* Must hold (or be eligible to hold) the required certification (440 Spanish).
* Approved background check (run by the district)
