Shift Engineering Technician As a Shift Engineer Technician with ideally an Electrical bias, you will be an integral part of a large multiskilled team responsible for maintenance, repair and optimisation of our production equipment to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the factory. You will also work closely with Production colleagues to ensure that equipment is correctly set up and maintained, monitor performance and carryout fault diagnosis, running adjustments/repairs as necessary in a fast-paced cheese processing environment. As we embark on an ambitious transformation journey you will contribute to developing and implementing continuous improvement LEAN projects, routine preventative maintenance, overhauling plant and machinery and providing support for the installation and commissioning of new equipment. The position follows a rotating shift pattern 3 on 3 off, 12 hour shifts over 7 days with some flexibility required to meet business needs. The Role Provide engineering support / repair (breakdown, PM, improvement) to onsite manufacturing equipment, primarily on a 3 on, 3 off 12-hour day shift pattern. Carry out planned and reactive maintenance to minimise equipment failure. Help to optimise the performance of all machinery, plant, buildings and services to minimise machine down time and optimise OEE. Support production colleagues to optimise process set up and line efficiency and minimise downtime. Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults quickly and effectively Through structured continuous improvement devise initiatives to increase efficiencies and reduce costs and implement engineering projects Support the installation and commissioning of new plant and equipment. Maintain accurate records of work completed and shift handover Care for tools and equipment provided, ensuring that on completion of a task that equipment and/or work area is left in a clean and safe condition. Work as part of an inter-dependent team with flexibility to take on all other reasonable tasks. Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards The Person: Essential: Minimum of3 years engineering experience in a manufacturing environment NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical or Multi-skilled Engineering Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively Excellent communication skills (both written and oral). Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office particularly Excel Proven experience to work under pressure while managing and prioritising workload effectively Proven experience in working on tasks that require a high level of attention to detail. Desirable: 3 years engineering experience in a food manufacturing or FMCG environment 18 th Edition wiring regulations certificate.
