They are seeking a talented, enthusiastic Flood Risk and Drainage Consultant who is willing to take on a challenging array of projects within the sector, based in the lively, richly-cultural city of Liverpool.

Responsibilities for the role of Flood Risk and Drainage Consultant include:
1. Producing Flood Risk Assessments (FRA) and designing Drainage Strategies, including Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS), in support of planning applications
2. Preparing Hydrological and Flood Risk Chapters of Environmental Impact Assessments, Nutrient Neutrality, and ESG factors
3. Attending site visits, writing comprehensive reports, and analysing data
4. Utilising the appropriate software packages (including MicroDrainage, Causeway Flow, etc.) to produce designs and calculations
5. Working with AutoCAD to develop conceptual drainage systems
6. Producing flood risk maps within QGIS (or similar)
7. Liaising with clients and other stakeholders, establishing and maintaining excellent working relationships with them
Required skills and experience for the role of Flood Risk and Drainage Consultant include:
8. Strong academic background in Hydrology, Civil Engineering, or Geography (or similar, relevant discipline)
9. Experience of working in a flood risk and drainage role, within a UK-based consultancy or Local Authority
10. Demonstrable experience of authoring Flood Risk Assessments and producing Drainage Strategies
11. Proficient in the use of MicroDrainage, InfoDrainage, Causeway Flow, TUFLOW, and other, similar software systems
12. Good working knowledge of AutoCAD and GIS software systems
13. Excellent understanding of the Microsoft Office Suite
14. Outstanding communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
15. Experience of working closely with clients and other stakeholders
16. Keen to take a proactive approach to improving skills and your Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
17. Hold a full, valid UK Driving Licence
Desirable skills and experience for the role of Flood Risk and Drainage Consultant include:
18. Good comprehension of relevant planning policy, procedures, and regulatory processes within the industry
19. Prior experience of producing technical reports for flood modelling studies
20. Undertaking hydrological analysis with reference to the Flood Estimation Handbook, WINFAP, ReFH2, and other industry guidance
21. Good knowledge of hydraulic modelling for rivers, surface water, and/or sewer drainage
22. Experience in the use of AutoCAD and GIS software
23. Actively working to attain Chartered Status
