Overview

Role: Children’s Night Support Worker (Orchard Court)

Location: Mirfield, WF14 0DQ

Salary: £12.91/hr

Hours: Full-time (40 hours). Role includes alternate weekends.

Hollybank Trust provides high-quality care for children, young people and adults with profound and multiple learning disabilities and complex needs. Orchard Court is a residential service in Mirfield with seven accessible, en-suite, wheelchair-adapted rooms and tracking hoists. The service also offers a respite provision for families.

Key Role Responsibilities

* Resource Management: identify, assess and report resource requirements to the Senior Night Team; report concerns at handover.
* Personal Development: pursue development opportunities to improve performance; participate in team meetings, supervision and reviews.
* Autonomy: establish and maintain relationships with residents to support care programmes and a safe living environment.
* Communication: communicate across verbal, written and electronic mediums; complete handovers; support resident choice and independence in line with the Mental Capacity Act.
* Nutritional Needs: support dietary requirements, monitor intake, encourage independence, and oversee food preparation when required following hygiene guidelines.
* Personal Care: assist with hygiene, continence management, bathing and dressing; maintain comfort, privacy and dignity; follow infection control procedures.
* Behaviour Management: manage behaviour per individual care plans and feedback where appropriate.
* Medication: coordinate and administer medications and feeds per Trust Policies.
* Moving and Handling: apply correct lifting techniques and use appropriate equipment; follow Trust guidelines.
* Postural Management: follow physiotherapy postural guidelines to maintain residents’ physical condition.
* Environment and Property: ensure a safe, tidy environment; report maintenance issues; protect residents’ belongings.
* Documentation: accurately record tasks on required documentation (Kardex, Care Plans, MAR Sheets) and report incidents electronically.
* Safeguarding and Confidentiality: adhere to safeguarding procedures; protect residents’ privacy in line with Data Protection Act and information governance policies.
* Flexibility and Timekeeping: perform duties as required to meet service needs; be flexible at start and end of shifts.
* Competency Behaviours: demonstrate personal effectiveness, teamwork, positive attitude, and commitment to developing self and others; maintain a professional and positive representation of Hollybank Trust.
