Operations Manager – Commercial Cleaning

About the Role
Our client, a leading provider within the commercial cleaning sector, is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day delivery of cleaning services in the Newcastle upon Tyne area. This is a key leadership role that requires a hands-on approach, strong organisational skills, and the ability to manage both people and operations effectively.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee daily operations to ensure all client sites are serviced to the highest standards.
* Manage and motivate a team of site supervisors, cleaning operatives, and support staff.
* Conduct regular site audits and inspections, addressing issues proactively.
* Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as the first point of contact for operational matters.
* Ensure compliance with health & safety, COSHH, and company procedures.
* Manage budgets, stock, and equipment allocation efficiently.
* Recruit, train, and support staff to deliver consistent service excellence.
* Report regularly to senior management on performance, KPIs, and improvement opportunities.
About You
* Previous experience in an operational management role within the commercial cleaning or facilities management sector is essential.
* Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate diverse teams.
* Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
* A proactive, hands-on manager with strong client-facing communication skills.
* Knowledge of H&S compliance, COSHH regulations, and industry best practice.
* Full UK driving licence (essential).
