About The Role
We are currently seeking a dedicated Quality Engineer with a welding bias to join our team on a contract basis. This role is based in Reading with a hybrid work model, offering a dynamic environment where technical expertise and quality assurance intersect. The successful candidate will serve as a key quality resource, providing local expertise in welding processes, ensuring compliance with strict industry standards, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. This position is ideal for professionals who thrive in regulated environments and are committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety, security, and quality.
Qualifications
* Relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification, complemented by specialized certifications in welding and quality assurance.
* Welding Coordinator certification (BS EN ISO 14731), IIW/EWF Welding Engineer or Technologist certification, and a minimum of two years' experience in engineering or quality engineering roles.
* Familiarity with ISO standards (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001), AQAP 2110, and certifications such as Lead Auditor or IOSH Managing Safely.
* Strong proficiency in MS Office, data analysis, report writing, and excellent communication skills to engage with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
* Represent Quality throughout all phases of design, project execution, trials, and production activities, ensuring adherence to industry standards and client specifications.
* Provide technical support and guidance to project teams and clients to ensure deliverables meet all quality requirements and targets.
* Lead inspection, calibration, and reporting processes to maintain compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
* Conduct technical reviews and defect investigations, ensuring quality issues are identified and addressed promptly.
* Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement initiatives to enhance overall quality capabilities and efficiency.
* Uphold high standards in safety, security, environmental management, and quality performance across all activities.
