Job Overview
Are you passionate about delivering exceptional customer service while navigating technical detail? Join our Developer Services team and play a key role in guiding customers through their application journey - from initial submission to successful approval.
You’ll be the go-to expert for helping developers submit high-quality applications that meet all technical requirements, including drainage and site plans. Your support via phone, email, chat, and digital channels, will ensure a smooth, stress-free experience for our customers.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide outstanding support to customers throughout the Developer Services (DS) application process
2. Review and analyse technical drawings and application forms to ensure completeness and compliance
3. Respond to developer queries across multiple channels: web portal, chat, phone, email, and post
4. Help improve our Developer Measure of Experience (D-MeX) by delivering a seamless service
5. Accurately record paper applications into our system
6. Collaborate with internal teams, including the Customer Contact Centre, to meet shared goals
7. Support Assistant Project Managers in meeting Water UK compliance metrics
8. Make informed decisions on applications in line with Southern Water policies and Water UK Levels of Service
9. Maintain high standards of health and safety in all aspects of your work
About You
10. Strong written and verbal communication skills
11. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general IT systems
12. Sharp attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
13. Excellent organisational skills and time management
14. A calm, professional and supportive approach to customer service - even under pressure
15. Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences
16. Confidence in handling challenging conversations with empathy and clarity
17. A collaborative mindset and a proactive, can-do attitude
18. Experience in wastewater or utilities (preferred but not essential)

Package
This role will be full time Monday to Friday with a hybrid approach to working between our office in Durrington and home.
