Project Officer - Bishop Auckland - £45,196 to £55,000 + Company Car

The Operations team maintain, repair and upgrade 7,666km of high-pressure pipe, 23 compressor stations, 504 above-ground installations, and 8 connected distribution networks through a highly skilled team of over 600 technicians and engineers across Great Britain. Working around the clock to maintain and enhance the infrastructure that powers homes, business and industries, guaranteeing a steady and secure energy supply.
About The Role
As a Project Officer you will support the delivery of control system replacement (CSR) projects and other CAPEX initiatives. In this role, you will act as a key interface between project managers and operations, ensuring technical and logistical alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
What You’ll Do
You will develop and deliver CapEx projects aligned with self-delivery goals, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to National Gas standards.
You will partner with Area Managers to plan and coordinate outage work while scoping resource needs and identifying any training requirements. Additionally, you will provide technical support by responding to RFIs and TQs, reviewing RAMS, and contributing to FPSA studies and G35 modifications.
You must have completed a time-served apprenticeship and possess experience working within compressor stations or petrochemical environments. A willingness to travel for meetings, factory acceptance tests (FATs), and cross-site collaboration is essential.
It would be advantageous to hold an HNC or HND in Electrical or Instrumentation, have project delivery experience, and possess knowledge of process safety, design, and commissioning. EL/96 APE and SCO/91 AE authorisations would also be beneficial.
