Behaviour Support Assistant Blackburn with Darwen Full-time Long-term Pay: £13.75 – £14.50 per hour We are currently seeking a Behaviour Support Assistant to work full-time in a specialist educational setting in Blackburn with Darwen, supporting pupils with additional behavioural and emotional needs. 8:00am – 3:20pm, Monday to Friday The Role: As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils to manage their behaviour, engage with learning, and develop positive relationships. You will work closely with teaching staff and the wider support team to maintain a calm, structured, and supportive environment. Key Responsibilities: Providing 1:1 and small group behaviour support Implementing firm but fair expectations Using strong behaviour management strategies Building positive rapport with pupils Supporting emotional regulation and resilience Acting as a positive role model at all times The Ideal Candidate Will Have: Strong behaviour management skills The ability to build trust and rapport quickly Resilience, patience, and consistency A sense of humour and positive attitude Confidence in setting boundaries and maintaining structure Relevant Backgrounds Considered: Support work or youth work Personal or lived experience Military or uniformed services background Degree in Psychology, Criminology, or a related field This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young people and making a positive impact in their lives.
