Briar Security Systems is a leading independent security installation company proudly serving the Cambridge area for over 40 years. We are expanding our operations and seeking a dedicated, organised, and detail-oriented Assistant Finance Manager to join our team.
As an Assistant Finance Manager, you will play a key role in our finance department, providing critical support across a range of accounting functions. You will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth and accurate flow of our financial operations, contributing to the continued success of our business.
Responsibilities
* Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable: Provide full transactional support for both accounts receivable and accounts payable via phone and email.
* Supplier & Invoice Management: Process supplier payments, post transactions, and perform reconciliations using Sage 50 accounting software. Manage the processing of new sales invoices for installations, takeovers, and upgrades.
* Payroll Administration: Schedule and process payroll, produce spreadsheets, and liaise with our external payroll provider.
* Financial Reconciliation: Conduct regular bank reconciliations and manage general payments, expenses, invoices, and receipts.
* Reporting & Analysis: Update monthly reports and process price increments.
* Debt & Credit Control: Actively assist with credit control to manage debtors and support cashflow.
* VAT Reporting: Assist with VAT reporting and submission
* External Liaison: Coordinate with external providers for essential certifications, including Safe Contractor and Achilles.
* Customer Support: Provide backup support for general office inquiries, calls, and customer service needs.
