Job Title: Dayshift / Backshift Electrician
Location: Inverness
Hours: Dayshift / Backshift (covering shifts as required)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Dayshift/Backshift Electrician to join our clients engineering team in Inverness site. Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, you will play a key role in maintaining, repairing, and improving electrical systems across the factory, yard, and offices.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure the safe and efficient utilisation of all electrical equipment throughout the site.
* Work collaboratively with the engineering and production teams to support site operations.
* Diagnose and repair electrical breakdowns across the plant.
* Modify and improve existing procedures and programmes when required.
* Carry out preventative maintenance on electrical equipment.
* Identify and report any early signs of equipment failure.
* Maintain accurate documentation including logbooks, programme additions, and changes.
* Install and commission new equipment and services as requested.
* Perform isolations and de-isolations in line with permit-to-work procedures.
* Assist with other engineering work as directed by the Electrical Supervisor.
* Maintain high standards of housekeeping and safe working practices at all times.
About You:
* Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate, influence, and negotiate.
* Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively.
* Competent in Microsoft Office applications.
Essential Requirements:
* Qualified to City & Guilds level or above in Electrical Engineering.
* Proven industrial maintenance experience.
* PLC knowledge preferably Allen Bradley 5/40 and Siemens Step 5.
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
* Willingness to work towards completion of 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
* Flexibility to cover for shift electricians when required.
