If you’re looking for a new experience, and you’re used to leading varied teams, achieving high standards and running smooth operations, you could make a real difference by working for Europe’s largest conservation charity.
We’re looking for a Property Operations Manager for our property portfolio in Carmarthenshire & Ceredigion (Dinefwr, Llanerchaeron and Dolaucothi Goldmine), with responsibility for the daily operations of these busy and much-loved National Trust sites, and for introducing improvements to make it as welcoming as possible for everyone.
What it's like to work here
As a Property Operations Manager, you’ll help care for our special places across Carms & Ceredigion. Based primarily at one site, you’ll also support several others, working closely with your General Manager, consultancy colleagues and Trust specialists to maintain high standards in conservation, visitor experience, volunteering and operations.
You’ll join a collaborative, purpose‑driven team of staff and volunteers who are passionate about creating memorable experiences. You’ll champion our values, being inclusive, welcoming, forward‑thinking and proactive.
Your days will be varied, from solving practical issues and engaging with visitors to planning ahead and supporting colleagues. You’ll play a central role in a fast‑paced, friendly and committed property team.
Some weekend and evening work will be required.
What you'll be doing
You’ll work collaboratively with your colleagues – particularly those in visitor experience team, programming and facilities – to run the visitor operations here. Together, you’ll be making sure that every visitor has what they need to have their best possible day, as well as the chance to discover the work of the Trust for themselves.
You’ll help your team with their priorities and the confidence to achieve their goals, providing them with the care, resources and direction they need to succeed.
In your position in the leadership team, you’ll be involved in the strategic direction of the whole place. From time to time, you will stand in for the General Manager to run the place or attend external partner meetings in their absence. And you’ll be expected to work some weekends and evenings, as required.
