Band 6 Specialist Dialysis Nurse
Overview
The hospital has a two‑station dialysis unit that operates three days per week and is linked with the Greater Glasgow & Clyde Renal service. Patient care and treatment is overseen by GGC consultants.
Responsibilities
The specialist nurse is responsible for the overall management of the dialysis unit and will undertake the clinical and managerial duties of a senior member of the hospital team. They will ensure that the delivery of a high standard of care is maintained in the Dialysis Unit and may assist in co‑ordinating and facilitating the training and education for staff and students.
Qualifications
Excellent knowledge of haemodialysis and significant experience working in a renal dialysis unit. A strong values‑driven practice and highly developed interpersonal skills are essential. The role requires the ability to work independently.
Working Conditions and Benefits
This is a full‑time permanent post, to be worked in accordance with service requirements.
Effective from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will be reduced from 37 to 36 hours. Part‑time hours will be adjusted on a pro‑rated basis and there will be an increase in the hourly rate to ensure that pay remains unaffected.
