We have an exciting opportunity for a Recovery Worker with the skills and experience to assess and engage with our service users, ensuring they access the right intervention at the right time, in a way that best meets their needs. This role is part of the West Kent Drug & Alcohol Wellbeing Service, based in Gravesend.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Salary Range: £27,861.26 - £32,002.35
Contract: Fixed Term until 31st March 2026, with potential for extension
About the role
1. Supporting service users from entry into the service through their recovery journey
2. Providing screening, assessment, recovery planning, and onward referral
3. Reducing drug and alcohol-related harm to service users and the community
4. Promoting involvement of carers, service users, and the community
5. Advocating for access to partnership services
6. Supporting social reintegration to promote recovery, resilience, peer support, and self-determination
7. Researching, designing, and preparing materials for groups/pods
8. Delivering structured content to service users at various recovery stages
9. Engaging in debriefings and evaluations post-group sessions
10. Tailoring workshops to meet specific needs, such as anger management and sleep disorders
About you
1. Strong understanding of substance misuse issues and relevant experience
2. Experience managing group dynamics and challenging behaviors
3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with good IT proficiency
4. Proactive, able to work independently with good time management
5. Knowledge of mental health interventions and services
6. Supportive team player with strong interpersonal skills and partnership experience
7. Ability to manage change effectively prioritizing service user needs
8. Commitment to information governance and safeguarding
9. Willingness to learn and support the development of others
